This DVD features- Working with a 4 month old unweaned filly sessions 5-10
For those of you with foals, Warwick filmed 10 sessions with a 4 month old unweaned filly. This is the last 6 sessions, which are much shorter, will be released next month.
– A horse that won’t move – Scotland
Filmed at a clinic in Scotland, in this session Warwick works with a horse that basically has no response to asking for energy on the ground. Apparently this horse used to be over reactive, and may have had the desensitizing over done to compensate for that. A great video to watch if you have an under achiever, and also good to watch to get some suggestions on how to think outside the box.
– Experimenting with clicker training to help a reining horse (Sherlock)
One of my wife’s reining horses, Sherlock, is an interesting little fellow, and I have been experimenting with clicker training to help with some of his anxieties. This video shows the first session, and then the results from a major horse show.
– Using lateral flexion to fix a stiff back up
This lesson actually started out working on something else, and the backup was the tool to solve the issue. The backup was stiff, so we had to go back a step and get the backup softer. As one of the principles of solving issues is “can you do half of it ?”, we went back and used one rein to solve the stiffness with two reins.
– Ensuring your horse is balanced in the counterbend
Many people use the counterbend to help flexibility and enhance body control in their horses. In this video , Warwick shows how he feels it should be done, so that the horse doesn’t become unbalanced while doing it.
– Getting your horse to catch up to your hands, seat or focus
In this video Warwick talks about how he feels he teaches his horses to follow whichever aid you would like him to follow, and the importance of them being able to catch up to that aid.
